A Message from Jon Schwartz (aka Vinny Verelli), NSA GA Member and Former President
Whether you’re just starting out as a speaker, have been speaking for a while or support speakers as a resource, you will find valuable information and networking at each monthly meeting. And that’s just the beginning!
Here are five ways to make the most of NSA Georgia:
Make NSA GA meetings a priority. We usually meet the second Saturday of each month, from 8:30 to noon. If you haven't attended an Orientation session yet, get there at 8 am for that. On the first Friday of each month, from 10 to 11:30 am, join us at First Friday Coffee. Our Speaker Lab will help you polish your platform skills and meets the second and fourth Thursdays. Block out the time on your calendar now. If you miss a monthly meeting or want a refresher, you can always listen to the audio online!View our calendar of upcoming events.
Network smart. Come to meetings with specific intentions, like information, connections and support you need--and ask. Legendary motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.” So, remember to ask how you can help others. Even if you’re new to the group, you have a lot to offer!
Volunteer. NSA Georgia members and associates who volunteer and eventually assume leadership roles are often the most successful speakers. It takes a village to run an association and we all do a great job of pitching in and making things happen. Volunteering is one of the best ways for you to get to know others in the association—and for them to get to know you—while contributing your valuable time and talents. Find out where you can serve by contacting our Engagement Chair, John Brantley, at 706-424-2725 or email@example.com.
Get Connected. Engage with us on our social media sites to connect with, learn from and share with other speakers. Join our members-only LinkedIn Group, “like” our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter. Here’s how
Get Found on Our Speaker Directory. Meeting professionals click on the Find a Speaker tab of our website and search for speakers to hire. If you’re a member or associate, make sure you’re there by logging in and clicking on My Directory Options, under Account Details. Remember to add your speaking topics so you’re more searchable. You'll find helpful video tutorials on setting up your profile and other topics when you log in and go to Members Only Resources.
